About the Project

The goal of this project is to create an experimental setup in order to model and study Plume-Surface Interactions (PSI). This involves designing a nozzle capable of creating a sonic jet impinging upon a flat plate with adjustable positioning, simulating a rocket exhaust landing on a ground surface of varying conditions. Very little has been done to model these interactions in a laboratory environment. This project aims to change that.
